Horizon
I had no idea when I took this that Alice Dalton Brown, who I admire tremendously, created a beautiful painting of just such a minimalist scene in 2000! The difference being of course that Alice carefully rendered every nuance, every shade and each sparkle at the tip of each crest of every single wave in oil on canvas - I am truly in awe! @Jan: Probably because it was on the beach between Beer and Branscombe, you were just taking pictures in the wrong place! ;-)

A grand photo, I can spend hours looking at the sea and the horizon. This one will do the job when I can't get to the coast.

Congratulations on this new step in your career.
In my painting "Horizon" the exciting feature for me was that I observed and painted the tops of all water a cobalt blue (reddish cast) and the fronts of the waves all a greenish blue. This makes a lively dynamic in paint.
