Dust of History

The old head gardener's office at Heligan had a poignant air of history about it. Twenty two of the men and boys who tended this garden went off to the war in 1914 - just six returned. The end of an era for many of the once great gardens and houses of Britain- but more importantly the loss of an entire generation for many rural villages across the country - [Lost Gardens of Heligan, Cornwall]
